Women's Golf's
David Sutherland has been named the Sacramento State Coach of the Year…earned Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year honors for the fifth time…the team dominated the conference, winning the Big Sky Championship by 16 strokes and claiming four of the five first team all-conference selections…the Hornets finished first in five tournaments, set the school single-season scoring record, and had its best showing at an NCAA postseason regional…the team's average of 291.23 strokes per round was more than two strokes better than the previous school record…four of the program's top 10 team single-round totals also came during the year.

OTHER NOMINEES
Sophie Breault (Women's Tennis) - The former Sacramento State standout as a student-athlete, Breault has helped revive the women's tennis program, advancing to the semifinals of the Big Sky Tournament for the second straight year…the team's 11 wins were the most for the program since 2018…the Hornets finished 9-1 at home – the most home victories since 2015…Breault inherited a team that won just one match in the season prior to her arrival, winning five times in 2022, and 11 times in 2023.
Mark Campbell (Women's Basketball) - Led the Hornets to heights never before seen in Sacramento, Campbell became the first Sacramento State women's basketball head coach to win Big Sky Coach of the Year honors…inherited a team that had won just three games two years prior…guided the Hornets to the program's first-ever Big Sky regular season and tournament titles, first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, school-record 25 wins, 13 victories in Big Sky play, 11-2 home record, and posted the second-most road wins in a season (9).
Lori Perez (Softball) - Led the Hornets to a Big Sky Conference co-regular season championship…Sacramento State went 27-20 overall, and 10-5 in league play…the Hornets are now 105-62 in Big Sky play during Perez's 10-year tenure…Perez also oversees the team's pitchers, and coached the pitching staff to a 2.72 ERA…in addition, right-hander Marissa Bertuccio was unanimously selected as the Big Sky's Pitcher of the Year.
Troy Taylor (Football) - Earned his third Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year award after helping the Hornets to a share of the Big Sky title…the team finished the regular season with an 11-0 record and ended the year 12-1 overall…Taylor guided the team to its first FCS Playoff victory and saw the team ranked among the top 10 in the FCS very week of the season…along with setting the school record for wins in a season, the team also set program records for single-season rushing yards (3,163), points scored (558) and touchdowns (71).
