GYMNASTICS’ AMBER KOETH AWARDED SACRAMENTO STATE’S CLUTCH PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR

Gymnastics' Amber Koeth has been awarded Sacramento State's Clutch Performance of the Year award after tying a pair of school records and helping the Hornets to their 10th best score in school history…competing in the final home meet of her career (Senior Night), Koeth scored 9.950 on both beam and floor to tie school records…her beam score matched Melissa Genovese's mark which had stood since 2008…her floor score tied Stefanie Aeder who scored 9.950 in 2004 and 2005.

Asher O'Hara (Football) - In front of a late-night national television audience, O'Hara helped the Hornets to a 31-24 overtime victory over seventh-ranked Montana…O'Hara tied the game with a 4-yard rush with under four minutes remaining…after the defense forced a stop, the game headed to overtime where O'Hara rushed for a 7-yard score on the team's first possession.

Kahlaijah Dean and Katie Peneueta (Women's Basketball) - The duo provided some early-season excitement in a win over UC Santa Barbara…Peneueta drained a three-pointer with two seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime, and Dean drained the game-winner on a runner with 1.7 seconds left in the extra period for a 70-68 victory…it was the program's first win over the Gauchos since 1988.

Mayya Gorbunova (Women's Tennis) - Rallied from down a set, and then came back from a deficit in the decisive third frame to clinch the winning point in a 4-3 triumph over UC Davis…it was the Hornets' first official win over UC Davis since 2012… after dropping the first set, 6-1, Gorbunova staved off elimination with a 7-6 (5) win in the second…twice trailing at 4-3 and 5-4 in the third, Gorbunova fought off a match point to take the final set, 7-5.

Bryan Gutierrez (Men's Soccer) - Picked a fine time to tally his first career goal, looping in a header off a free kick from Genaro Alfaro with 14 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Hornets to a 1-0 victory over Cal State Fullerton…that victory helped Sacramento State clinch a Big West Conference Tournament berth.

Ariana Nino and Danna Restom (Women's Soccer) - The duo teamed up to score twice in the final six minutes of regulation to stun league-leading Idaho, 2-1, on the road…Nino scored her first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1 in the 84th minute, while Restom's header with 1:41 remaining in regulation won the game…Nino converted her goal on a free kick from Aubrey Goodwill, and Restom's header came on an assist from Nino.
