GOLF'S CASEY LEEBRICK RECIPIENT OF SACRAMENTO STATE'S MALE INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR

Casey Leebrick is the recipient of Sacramento State's Male Individual Performance of the Year…ran away from the field to win the individual title at the Big Sky Conference Championship by six strokes…his 54-hole total of 64-71-67-202 is the best in school history for any tournament…ended the tournament at 8-under par…his first round score was his career best and is tied for third all-time at Sacramento State…became the fifth Hornet in school history to win the title.

Zach Chappell (Men's Basketball) - Hit game-winning buckets in the closing seconds of back-to-back wins over a four-day stretch against Denver and Long Beach State…named the College Insider National Player of the Week, and Big Sky Player of the Week…in the 87-85 OT win vs. Denver, he scored with five seconds left in regulation to force OT, and then sunk the game winner with two seconds left in the extra session…in the 76-74 win vs. Long Beach State, he scored with 0.5 seconds left to deliver the victory.
Francisco Magana (Soccer) - Nearly did it all offensively for the Hornets in a win over Gonzaga, netting his first career hat trick with goals in the 20th, 51st, and 67th minutes in a 3-2 victory…his hat trick was the first by a Hornet since Benji Kikanovic accomplished the feat in a 4-2 win over San Francisco in 2019…became only the fifth Sacramento State player to net a hat trick during the program's Div. I era (1991-pres.).
John Maka (Track & Field) - Finished second at the Big Sky Conference Championship to earn all-Big Sky honors…he uncorked a throw of 179-00 (54.56m) on his third attempt to move into fourth place in school history…the throw was 11-feet, 7-inches beyond his previous best and was the longest by a Hornet since 2018.
Marshel Martin (Football) - Guided the Hornets to the program's first-ever FCS Playoff victory with 10 receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns against 13th-ranked#13 Richmond…the tight end scored on a 5-yard touchdown midway through the first quarter to put the Hornets on top, 7-0…after falling behind, he knotted the game at 31-31 with a 19-yard pass one minute into the fourth quarter.
