BASKETBALL’S JORDAN OLIVARES RECIPIENT OF SACRAMENTO STATE’S FEMALE INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR

Basketball's Jordan Olivares is the recipient of Sacramento State's Female Individual Performance of the Year…in the Big Sky Conference Tournament championship game win over Northern Arizona, Olivares scored a career-high 26 points to go with seven rebounds to help lead the Hornets to the title… finished 9-of-15 from the field, including a trio of three-pointers and added three assists…her total was the third highest ever posted by a Hornet in the Big Sky Tournament…the win allowed Sacramento State to claim its first Big Sky Tournament championship, and first NCAA Tournament appearance.

Eliana Coburn (Track & Field) - Was the Big Sky champion in the pentathlon at the Big Sky Indoor Championship, the first in program history to accomplish the feat.…Coburn scored 3,675 points to move into fourth place in school history and win the multi event by 56 points…she set personal bests in the 60-hurdles, high jump, shot put and 800.

Caty Cordano (Volleyball) -Set the program record with 43 digs in a 3-2 road win at Northern Arizona…the 43 digs surpassed the previous mark of 42, set by All-American Jill Haas in 1995…part of a Hornet defense that limited NAU to a .103 hitting percentage…averaged a massive 8.6 digs per set during the match… tallied 11 digs in the first set, eight in the second, seven in the third, 14 more in the fourth, and three in the decisive fifth set…named Big Sky Player of the Week for her efforts.

Lewa Day (Softball) - Hit a home run in both games of a doubleheader at Saint Mary's to set the program record with 46 career home runs…it was her homer in the opener that set the record at 45, and she tacked on another in the nightcap to make it 46…not only are 46 home runs the most in Sacramento State history, they are also the third best mark in Big Sky Conference history…Day is averaging one homer every 10.4 at-bats during her career.

Caitlin Maurice (Golf) - Earned her first career victory by winning the Big Sky Conference individual title by one stroke…the sophomore totaled 69-66-76-211…her 66 in the second round tied the school second-round record…her 54-hole total ranks seventh all-time at Sacramento State, and is the lowest ever by a Hornet at the Big Sky Championships.
