This year's winner of the SAAC Award is Maddy Ferreros of the Women's Tennis team…the SAAC Award is recognition of an individual that exemplifies what the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee stands for - professional development, serving as a leader, and representing SAAC and Sacramento State in a positive light.

Maddy Ferreros, Sophomore
• Completed her second season with the women's tennis team in 2023
• Is currently the SAAC President, consistently making strides towards the betterment of the student-athlete experience
• Leads community service initiatives, and consistently seeks ways to stay engaged and help others
• Currently has a 3.909 GPA as a business major
• One of the hardest working players on campus
• Two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, and two time Big Sky Conference all-academic selection
• Attends the Big Sky SAAC meetings in Arizona
• Helps lead and organize student-athlete cohesion events, such as Hornet Olympics and the first-ever Student-Athlete ESPYs.

"Maddy led the SAAC council phenomenally this year," SAAC Advisor Bethany Crouch said. "She helped bring back events that had not occurred since prior to the pandemic. She was able to rally student-athletes to connect on initiatives and Hornet athlete bonding events. She is dedicated to her school work, her performance on the court, and providing an exceptional student-led athlete experience. She has grown immensely and I see her growing even more as she steps into her second year as SAAC President."
