OTHER NOMINEES
Baseball - The Western Athletic Conference regular season co-champions…marked the program's third WAC regular season title in school history, and first since 2014…won 32 games and finished 15-9 in WAC play, posting its highest overall and conference win totals since 2022…the 32 victories gave the Hornets 30-or-more wins for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons…team picked up Coach of the Year (Reggie Christiansen) and Pitcher of the Year (Evan Gibbons) honors while placing five on the postseason all-WAC team, including four of those on the first team.
Volleyball - Won the Big Sky Conference Tournament title, and received an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament…finished the season 21-12 overall, 11-5 in the Big Sky, and 12-2 at home…won three matches in three days during the Big Sky Tournament, which included a 3-2 win in the championship match over Northern Colorado…dropped just three sets during the three-day event…the NCAA Tournament berth was the program's first since 2007…did not drop more than two straight matches all year.
Women's Soccer - Claimed its first Big Sky Conference Tournament title since 2010, and made its third NCAA Tournament appearance…set a school record with nine draws, three of those coming in the conference tournament en route to the title…had the Big Sky Tournament MVP and placed five on the all-tournament team - matching the most in school history…five Hornets were named to the all-Big Sky team, including first-teamers Abigail Lopez and Sydney Sharts…the Hornets finished 4-0-4 at home.
Women's Tennis - Big Sky Conference Tournament champions and NCAA Tournament qualifiers for the second straight season…finished 21-4 overall, the most victories by a Hornet squad since the 2008 team finished 21-7… coupled with the 20 wins in 2024, it gave the Hornets back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2004 (23-4) and 2005 (23-5)…six Hornets earned all-Big Sky honors, which included claiming the tournament MVP award (Reese Walker) for the second straight season.
