Madison Evers-Lyles has been named Sacramento State's Female Freshman of the Year…also named the Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year - first Hornet in program history to accomplish the feat…a second team all-Big Sky selection…started 35 games at third base…hit .378 (45-for-119) with 29 runs, 10 doubles, 11 home runs, 39 RBIs, a .739 slugging percentage and .402 on-base percentage…her .739 slugging percentage is tied for the third best single-season mark in school history…became just the third freshman in program history to hit 10 homers in a season.

OTHER NOMINEES
Tristian Campbell (Track & Field) - Earned first team all-Big Sky Conference honors after placing third in the 400 at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships…ran 54.39 in the event final to rank third in program history…set the indoor school record with the same time (54.39) in the 400…anchored the 4x400 relay which finished in second place at the Big Sky Championships and set the school record…was named the Big Sky Freshman of the Meet at the Big Sky Indoor Championships.
Darla May Dela Torre (Golf) - Named the Big Sky Freshman of the Year and was a first team all-conference selection…played in the lineup in 32 rounds during the season and averaged 73.75 strokes per round which ranks 17th in school history…set her career best with a 68 in the first round of the Big Sky Championship…tied for fourth at the tournament after shooting 68-73-72-213…had 10 rounds of par or better during the season…finished even par at three tournaments.
Kaitlyn Driessen (Gymnastics) - Competed on vault in all 13 meets, and on beam in the final 10 meets…averaged 9.652 on vault with an NQS of 9.740…set her season high with a 9.825 at the MPSF Championships…had seven vaults of at least 9.700…averaged 9.633 on beam with an NQS of 9.780… won the individual beam title in the quad meet at San Jose State with a 9.850…later matched that score in the dual at UC Davis…received scores of 9.725 or better in six meets.
Skyler Gartin (Volleyball) - Started the final 10 matches of the season at middle blocker as a true freshman…her .364 hitting percentage was the best mark on the team…in 107 swings, Gartin had 50 kills and just 11 errors…had a stretch of four straight matches (Nov. 14-23) where she had at least five kills and hit better than .350…in her first collegiate start at Northern Colorado, she had seven kills and a .700 hitting percentage…led the Hornets with an average of 1.00 blocks per set at the Big Sky Tournament.
Mackenzie Murray (Rowing) - Competed with the varsity eight (the Hornets' top boat) in all 10 spring races as a true freshman…sat in the three seat in each of those races…helped the varsity eight to a gold medal at the WIRA Championship, a first place finish at the Sacramento State Invitational, and a 10-second win over Kansas State at the Hornet Invitational…was named to the For Stars Network's preseason Watch List…she was the only freshman in the team's varsity eight.
Emilija Pranyte (Tennis) - Named second team all-Big Sky Conference in doubles…twice named the Big Sky Player of the Week…finished 16-7 overall in singles at mainly the No. 4 spot in the lineup…win total ranked third on the team…her 13 wins at No. 4 are tied for second in Hornet Div. I single-season history at that spot in the lineup…also finished 12-5 in doubles play with teammate Lou Baudouin…her 15 total doubles wins led the team…had a six-match singles winning streak.
