BASEBALL RECIPIENT OF SACRAMENTO STATE’S MALE TEAM PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR

Baseball has been awarded Sacramento State's Male Team Performance of the Year…the Hornets won back-to-back road series at Grand Canyon and Utah Valley to move into first place en route to clinching the Western Athletic Conference regular season title…it was the first series win over the Lopes since 2019, and the first series win in Phoenix since 2016…had 23 hits in Game 2 at Grand Canyon, the most by the Hornets in a single game since 2003…coupled with 21 hits in the series opener, the Hornets posted back-to-back 20-hit games for the first time in the program's Division I era.

Basketball -
Overcame a 17-point first half deficit to win on the road at Air Force, 63-61…the Hornets trailed, 32-15, with 2:24 left in the first half, but outscored the Falcons, 48-29, over the final 22:11 of game clock…trailed, 33-22, at the half, but opened the second on a 12-0 run…had a 6-0 run late in the contest to put the game away…the Hornets had a balanced attack of four players scoring in double figures, but none more than 12 points…EJ Neal and Julian Vaughns both had 12 points.

Soccer - Hornets posted their first-ever road win against Santa Clara…Stacy Holmes and Hasan Alsakati scored goals to lift the Hornets to the 2-1 victory…it was the program's first-ever win in Santa Clara in 13 chances and only the third win over the Broncos in school history - first since a 2-1 win in the 2010 NCAA Tournament…Holmes scored 14 minutes into the contest for the lead with his first career goal…after the Broncos tied it three minutes later, Alsakati scored on a PK in the 58th minute for the game winner.

Track & Field - Sacramento State cruised to a 102-83 win over UC Davis in the annual Causeway Classic Dual…the Hornets earned 31 of the possible 32 points in the sprints (100-800m) with wins from Isaiah King (100), Nathan Rider (200), Malachi Cox (400) and Brandon Moreno (800)…Zachary Winger added wins in the 110- and 400-hurdles…in the field events, the team earned event wins from Miles Grant (HJ), Eli Kaltreider (TJ), Kyle Smith (DIS) and Emmanuel Akutey (HAM).
