Nathan Rider has been named the Sacramento State Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year…the award is given to the Hornet student-athlete that has the highest cumulative grade point average among all males who are a senior athletically…to be eligible, a student-athlete must have competed at Sacramento State for more than one academic year…Rider recently graduated with a kinesiology degree and a 3.869 GPA…named to the Dean's Honor List in six of his eight semesters at Sacramento State…three-time Big Sky all-academic selection…this past season, he scored for the Hornets in three events at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championship and two events at the Indoor Championship…tied for fourth in school history after running 46.89 in the 400 to win the Causeway Classic Dual…moved into sixth place in the Hornet record book with a 200 time of 20.98…part of the 4x400 relay team which recorded the two fastest times in school history…set the school indoor record in the 200 (21.02) which had stood since 2009.
