GOLF’S SNEHA SHARAN NAMED THE FEMALE HORNET AWARD WINNER

Golf's Sneha Sharan is the winner of this year's Female Hornet Award…nominated by coaches, the honor is awarded to one female and male student-athlete that best exemplify the spirit of a Hornet with their sportsmanship, community service and intangibles that make them a great teammate.

Sneha Sharan, Senior
• Completed her fourth season with the women's golf program
• Graduated last month Summa Cum Laude with a psychology degree and a 3.955 GPA

• Organized a myriad of team activities throughout the season
• Volunteered at dozens of youth golf camps throughout the Sacramento area
• Volunteered her time as a golfer to help raise money for children's charities in the Sacramento area
• Set the school single-season record by averaging 71.80 strokes per round in 30 rounds
• Became the first woman to break 72.00 in a season for the Hornets, and finished her senior season even relative to par
• Placed in the top 20 in her final five tournaments of the season, and seven of the last eight
