SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State head coach
Mike Bibby announced the signing of his second four-star recruit in freshman guard/forward Chidi Nwigwe.
Nwigwe joins guard Ashton Pierce (who was signed during the early period) as the Hornets two incoming ESPN four-star recruits. They are both the first four-star recruits in program history.
A New York native, Nwigwe becomes the Hornets' ninth signee for the 2026-27 season, joining:

• A 6-foot-7, 210-pound guard/forward from Monroe, N.Y.
• Has a 7-2 wingspan
• A four-star recruit by ESPN and 247Sports
• Ranked as high as the 19th best recruit in the nation by 247Sports
• Played four years of varsity basketball, including his senior season at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah - one of the premier high school programs in the country
• As a senior at Wasatch, he was a McDonald's All-America nominee and first team all-EYBL Scholastic League - one of the nation's elite basketball leagues
• Averaged 11.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.9 steals, 0.7 blocked shots and 27.5 minutes per game
• Also shot 54% from the field
• In two postseason games, he lifted his averages to 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals while shooting 72% (13-18) from the field
• Played his junior season at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas
• Played his sophomore season at Saint Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J.
• Played his freshman season at Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell. N.J.
• Averaged double figures in points all four years of high school, including 21.2 ppg as a sophomore, and 18.1 ppg as a junior
• Member of the academic high honor roll all four years of high school, and finished with a 3.75 GPA
• Had offers from 13 Power Four schools
• Played for Mokan Elite of Kansas City
