MEN’S BASKETBALL SIGNS FOUR STAR GUARD ASHTON PIERCE

SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State head coach Mike Bibby announced the program has signed North Mecklenburg High School guard Ashton Pierce. 

An ESPN four-star recruit, Pierce will enroll at the University as a freshman. Pierce if the program's first signee for the 2026-27 season.

• A 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard from Muncie, Ind.
• Highest rated freshman signee in program history
• Currently in his fourth season on the varsity squad at North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, N.C.
• An all-conference selection each season of his high school career
• Helped North Mecklenburg HS to state titles each of the last two seasons
• Also helped the Vikings to three straight conference championships
• Has raised his scoring average every season - 10.8 ppg as a freshman, 12.4 ppg as a sophomore, and 16.6 ppg as a junior
• A first team all-district, and first team all-conference selection as a junior
• Received over 20 Div. I offers before deciding on Sacramento State
