TENNIS’ MATE VOROS RECIPIENT OF SACRAMENTO STATE’S MALE INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR

Tennis' Mate Voros is the recipient of Sacramento State's Male Individual Performance of the Year…the Koszeg, Hungary, native was named the Big Sky Tournament MVP after helping lead the Hornets to the tourney title…went 2-0 at No. 2 singles, and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles during the postseason event…provided the match-clinching singles win in the semifinal victory over Idaho State…won both his singles matches in straight sets, including 6-4, 6-4 over Idaho State, and 6-3, 6-3 over Northern Arizona in the championship match.

Gunner Gouldsmith 18-game hitting streak (Baseball) - Hit a team-high .318 on the year, thanks in large part, to an 18-game hitting streak from Feb. 27 to March 26 that tied for the seventh longest in program history…it was the longest hitting streak since Nathan Lukes hit in 20 straight in 2014…streak began with a single at California on Feb. 27, and included six multi-hit games, including a 4-for-5 performance against Nevada on March 19 when he scored three times and drove in four runs.

Akol Mawein performance at Big Sky Tournament (Basketball) - Saved his best games for the postseason where he was named to the Big Sky all-tournament team…in three tourney games, he was the Hornets' leading scorer at 16.3 ppg…also averaged 3.3 rebounds while shooting 57% (16-28) from the field, 75% (3-4) from 3-point range, and 82% (14-17) from the free throw line…had a career-high 25 points in the Hornets' win over Idaho, and 17 points in the win over top seed Eastern Washington in the quarters.

Jett Stanley performance at Stanford (Football) - Sparked a Hornet defense with a career-high three sacks in a 30-23 road win at Stanford…finished the game with five tackles and led a Hornet defense which had six sacks as a team…prior to the game, Stanley had never posted more than one tackle for loss in a game…all three of his sacks came in the fourth quarter…his final sack led to a Cardinal punt which gave the Hornets the ball back with 2:23 remaining and set up the game-winning touchdown.

Dominic Vegaalban hat trick in road win at Pacific (Soccer) - Netted a second-half hat trick at Pacific to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Hornets to a 5-2 road victory over the Tigers…scored in the 64th minute off a free kick following a red card to get the run started, and then added scores in the 69th and 81st minutes…it was the seventh recorded hat trick in program history.
