AZUSA, Calif. — Ashley Busienei moved into the Sacramento State top 10 to highlight a late night at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Saturday night at Azusa Pacific.
Busienei, a sophomore from Santa Rosa, Calif., ran 4:29.69 during the Open A section of the 1500. Her time took over two seconds off her personal best and moved her into 10th place in school history.
The morning began with
Kaleena Narus competing in the Open C section of the 5K where she set a PR of 17:32.57.
Following that race, the team had seven women and four men compete in the multiple sections of the 1500.
Dani Gee had the second-fastest time for the Hornet women in 4:43.57.
Kate Sanders (4:47.15) and
Dakota Gibson (4:47.47) set PRs in the 1500 while
Viviana Valenton (4:44.64) and
Sophia Dudley (4:45.92) had season bests.
The men were led by
Brandon Moreno who ran 3:51.30 in the A section. Moreno's time set a career best by nearly two seconds. In Section C,
Ryan Martin set a PR in 3:58.73.
Sacramento State returns to action at the Mt. SAC Relays next week in Walnut, Calif.
