TRACK & FIELD CLOSES DON KIRBY INVITATIONAL WITH 11 SEASON BESTS

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Sacramento State men's and women's indoor track and field teams wrapped up the Don Kirby Invitational on Saturday by setting 11 season bests. The meet was the final competition for the team until they travel to Moscow, Idaho for the Big Sky Indoor Championships on Feb. 23-25.

The Hornet women saw all five entries in the 60-meter dash set season bests. Kassidy Schroth ran 7.81 for the fastest time on the team this season. She was followed by Ava Fitzgerald (7.90) who was running the event for the first time in her collegiate career. Fellow freshmen Jessi Barry and Tia Outlaw ran identical times of 7.94 and Kameryn Brown finished in 8.01.

Outlaw also led the team in the 60-hurdles in 8.76 while Eliana Coburn set a career best in the event in 8.91.

The other two career bests in the women's running events came from Dani Gee and Molly Latincsics in the mile. Gee finished in 5:13.98 with Latincsics close behind in 5:14.61. The times are the two fastest in the event by a Sacramento State woman this year.

In the field events, Abby Meder set a season best with a shot put of 44-10.75. Audrey McElmurry triple jumped 37-01. We will 75 for a 13-inch improvement over her previous long.

The men's team saw three season bests, including a pair of PRs. As they have done all season, Aiden Maddison and Santiago Ruiz continued to shatter their career bests. The pair each set a PR in the mile with Maddison running 4:29.84 and Ruiz crossing in 4:30.88.

Blaize Holland matched his season best with a time of 7.00 in the 60.
