AZUSA, Calif. — Members of the Sacramento State track and field team combined for set four personal records and four other season bests during the second day of the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday at Azusa Pacific.
The Hornets started the day win the women's open 5K where
Dani Gee ran 17:26.62 to take over 10 seconds off her previous career best.
Sacramento State saw all five runners in the women's open 800 set either season or career best marks. Freshman
Dominique Abbott led the way in 2:10.91 to top her PR of 2:13.69. Mia Lawerence (2:13.07) and
Sarah Collier (2:13.92) each set season bests while freshmen
Lilly Escorcia (2:15.05) and
Theone Divinagracia (2:15.52) recorded the fastest times of their young careers.
Eliana Coburn also completed the heptathlon during the day. Coburn began with a long jump of 16-08.75 to set her season best. She then threw the javelin 100-07 before concluding with a season-best time of 2:33.36 in the 800.
The meet will continue on Saturday where the Hornets will have entries in the men's and women's 1500.
