SALEM, Ore. -- Sacramento State won all five doubles matches - four in straight sets - as the Hornets opened the 2024 beach volleyball season with a 5-0 win over Bushnell.
The match was played at the Corban Beach Volleyball Facility, where Sacramento State will play twice more tomorrow. That includes matches vs. Portland at 10 a.m., and Corban at 2 p.m.
Bushnell, which hails from Eugene, Ore., dropped to 2-5.

The Hornets were playing without the services of
Bridgette Smith (injury), who played all of last season at No. 1 in the lineup with Hayes.
Beach volleyball, the youngest sport in Sacramento State's lineup of 21 intercollegiate sports, begins its 12th season as a program.
