NNAJI COMPLETES SEASON AT NCAA WEST PRELIMINARY

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Sacramento State senior Shantel Nnaji completed her spectacular collegiate career by placing 45th in the women's hammer at the NCAA West Preliminary on Thursday.

Nnaji fouled on her first and third attempts and was left counting a distance of 157-08 which came on her second throw.

The Tracy, Calif., native will leave Sacramento State as the school record holder in the hammer (191-06), ranks second in the discus (167-11) and is fifth in the shot put (49-04.25) making her the only woman in the top five of all three categories. Nnaji recently earned all-Big Sky honors in each event at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships.

Sacramento State will have one more competitor at the NCAA West Preliminary as Cagnei Duncan will compete in the women's 5K at 6:10 p.m. PT. On Wednesday, Evan Stork placed 11th in the men's hammer to earn a trip to the NCAA Div. I Outdoor Championships.
