Hall of Fame
• In 32 seasons as head volleyball coach (1976-2007), Colberg racked up 828 victories, two national titles, 20 NCAA Tournament appearances, 18 conference championships, 17 coach of the year awards, and coached 27 All-Americans.
• Inducted into the American Volleyball Coaches (AVCA) Hall of Fame in 2007.
• Sacramento State volleyball and basketball teams play their home games on Colberg Court.
• Owner of the best career winning percentage in any sport in Sacramento State history, Colberg finished with an overall record of 828-292 (.739), a conference record of 255-39 (.867), and a Div. I era record of 408-174 (.701).
• Led Hornets to six straight, and 10 NCAA Tournament appearances in 11 years (1997-00, 2002-07). The Hornets also rattled off 13 consecutive 20-win seasons, and 27 overall years with at least 20 victories.
• The recipient of 17 coach of the year awards (one national, five regional and 11 conference), Colberg also had the added responsibility of serving as Sacramento State’s Athletics Director, a position she held from February of 1999 until June of 2002.
• Since the program joined the Big Sky Conference in 1996, Colberg led the Hornets to eight regular season titles (1997-01, 2005-07) and nine conference tournament crowns (1997-98, 2000, 2002-07).
• The team consistently reached the NCAA Tournament under Colberg. During the Div. II era (1981-90), the team had five top five finishes while reaching the Final Four on four occasions. That included a national championship in 1981 and a national runner-up finish in 1989. The 1981 championship was the second national crown in as many years for Sacramento State as the team won the AIAW Div. III national crown in 1980 (the NCAA did not sanction women’s sports until 1981).
• A graduate of Sacramento State in 1970, she played on the University’s inaugural volleyball, softball and women’s basketball teams in the 1960s.
