• Won the NCAA’s inaugural Div. II national championship.
• The Hornets swept Lewis (Ill.) University, 15-10, 15-6, 15-7, in the national title match.
• Despite a starting lineup that featured three freshmen and two sophomores, the team finished the season 27-6 and won its second consecutive national championship.
• The Hornets posted a perfect 14-0 record in the Golden State Conference for the second straight year.
• Three Hornets were named to the all-national tournament team, comprised of Kris Jacobsen, Marcia Collier and Terri Nicholas.
• Jacobsen, who was the team captain, was also named first team All-America for the second straight year.
