SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State men's golf team is set to make its season debut on Monday at the CDA National Reserve Invitational on Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The tournament, which is hosted by Eastern Washington, will have two rounds on Monday and a single round on Tuesday at CDA National Reserve.
 
The Hornets will have a very different look than last season as only two returners are among the six golfers playing this week. Zach Matzke played in all 11 tournaments last season, including nine in the lineup. He averaged 74.06 strokes per round and set his low at the Big Sky Championship where he totaled 74-72-68-214 to tie for ninth. Jai Bahl was in the lineup in eight tournament and averaged 73.37. He set the school single-round record with a 61 in the second round of the Big Sky Championship where he was the co-medalist.
 
Making their Hornet debut this week  are PJ Segerstrom, Griffin Vaughan, Cooper Mapes and Everest Williams. Segerstrom is a junior college transfer while the other three are freshman.
 
Sacramento State will be making its first appearance at the CDA Invitational. The 16-team field includes two others from The Big West.
