SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State women's golf team will start its late season push in Arizona with the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Tuesday and Wednesday in Maricopa, Calif. The tournament will precede the Big Sky Championship in Litchfield Park, Ariz., on Apr. 19-21.

This week's tournament will have two 18-hole rounds on Tuesday and a single round on Wednesday. The Hornets are part of a 20-team field which includes No. 22 Iowa State as well as Big Sky foes Eastern Washington and Montana.

Sacramento State will be making its 13
th appearance at the tournament. The Hornets have second top-five finishes, including winning the team title in 2018, 2023 and 2024. The team has also had an individual finish in the top five in its last six appearances. That includes Julia Becker, Sofie Babic and Jennifer Koga who were medalists in 2017, 2018 and 2023, respectively.

Notes
- Ella Kraft needs two more rounds to become the second golfer in school history to play 120 rounds in her career. Kraft enters this week, eight rounds shy of Caitlin Maurice's school record of 126.
- Kraft moved past Jennifer Koga to set the school career record with 14 rounds in the 60s.
- Tova Hatton currently is fourth in school single-season history with a scoring average of 72.90. Hatton has been at our below par in five of her last nine rounds.

The Last Time at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic
Caitlin Maurice tied for fifth place and
Sneha Sharan tied for eighth to lead Sacramento State last season. Maurice guided the Hornets to an even-par round in the final day of the tournament with a 68.
Ella Kraft had the highest finish among the returners as she tied for 21
st at 79-70-77-226. The Hornets placed fourth out of 15 teams and were 24-over par. The team trailed Iowa State (3-over), UNLV (11-over) and Santa Clara (22-over).
