SAN FRANCISCO — Tova Hatton tied for first place to record her first individual collegiate victory and the Sacramento State women's golf team placed sixth at the Juli Inkster Invitational at TPC Harding Park on Tuesday.
 
Hatton was the bright spot for the team in the third round, finishing at 1-over par with a 73. The sophomore was even through the front nine with a bogey on the first hole and birdie on the par-4 sixth. She dropped to 1-under with a birdie on the par-5 12^th but followed with bogeys on Nos. 13 and 15 before closing with three pars.
 
Hatton entered the final round in second place and was two shots off the lead of Constance Fouillet of Cal. Fouillet maintained the lead for most of the round, playing her first 11 holes at 2-under but was undone by five consecutive bogeys (Nos. 12-16). After drawing even with Hatton, Fouillet parred her final two holes to finish tied.  
 
Sophia Lee and Darla May Dela Torre each shot 78 to rank second on the team. Lee had a pair of birdies over the first nine holes to join two bogeys and a double bogey. On the back side of the course she had five pars and four bogeys. Dela Torre was 2-over at the turn and played the back nine at 4-over with a birdie and five bogeys. Ella Kraft shot 80 on Tuesday for the final team score. Kraft had the second-highest finish on the team, tying for 37^th.
 
San Jose State rallied to claim the team title. The Spartans are 2-over as a team in the final round to edge Cal for the top spot by one stroke. Santa Clara finished in third place.
 
Sacramento State will next compete at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Mar. 17-18 in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
