SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State women's golf team will return to Hawaii for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Tuesday and Wednesday. The three-round tournament will have 36-holes on Tuesday followed by a single 18-hole round on Wednesday. This year will mark the first team the tournament is being held at the Pearl at Kalauao.

The Hornets have had success at the tournament finishing first in 2022 and 2023 and second last season. The team will have a stiff challenge in 2026 as the 12-team field include five other teams ranked in the top 100, including No. 2 USC, No. 13 North Carolina and #23 Arizona State.

This week will be the fourth tournament for the Hornets this spring in the last five weeks. The team had a fourth-place finish at the San Diego State Classic before placing third at the Causeway Invitational and sixth at the Juli Inkster Invitational.

Tova Hatton is coming off a tie for first place at the Juli Inkster Invitational. Hatton has been stellar during the spring, averaging 72.67 over the nine rounds. That performance moved Hatton into the top position in the Hornet lineup this week where she will be joined by
Ella Kraft,
Sophia Lee,
Darla May Dela Torre and
Ashley Koga.
Jocelyn Tseng and Florenica Dufey will also compete as individuals in the tournament.

The Last Time at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational
Sacramento State finished in second place at 8-under par following team scores of 286-281-289-856 at Ka'anapali Golf Resort.
Sneha Sharan and
Caitlin Maurice each finished in the top 10 with Sharan tying for sixth and Maurice tying for ninth. Hatton (66), Kraft (70), Dela Torre (71) and Dufey (71) each had an under-par round during the tournament.
