HATTON IN SECOND; WOMEN'S GOLF IN FIFTH AT JULI INKSTER INVITATIONAL

Sophomore shoots 4-under in first two rounds at TPC Harding Park

SAN FRANCISCO — Tova Hatton recorded rounds of 68 and 72 to finish the first day of the Juli Inkster Invitational at TPC Harding Park at 4-under par on Monday. Hatton is in second place while the Hornets are fifth with one round to play.

Hatton was never above par in the first round as she mixed seven birdies and only three bogeys to get to 4-under. Hatton was 1-under through 14 holes but ended with birdies on Nos. 12, 13 and 15 over her final four holes of the opening round. She parred her first 14 holes of the second round before a birdie on the par-5 12th and a bogey on the par-4 13th. She remained even in the round with two more pars. Hatton's 36-hole total places her two strokes back of Cal's Constance Fouillet for the individual lead.

Ella Kraft is tied for 23rd at 72-76-148. Kraft fluctuated between 1-under and 1-over throughout the morning round as she had four birdies and bogeys. She encountered trouble early in the second round with a triple bogey on No. 16 and bogeys on Nos. 17 and 17 to leave her at 5-over through four holes. From there, she played the front nine of the course at 3-under with birdies on Nos. 2, 4 and 9.  The senior bogeyed her first two holes on the back nine and then ended with four pars.

Jocelyn Tseng ranked third on the team through the first two rounds at 77-73-150 which ties her for 36th. Tseng had two birdies, four bogeys and a triple bogey in the first round. She was 1-over in the second round mixing a team-high four birdies with five bogeys.
