SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State track & field teams will make their transition to the outdoor season when they compete at the Cal Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The opening day of the meet will only have the men's and women's hammer and all other events will take place on Saturday.

The Hornets will be represented by 24 women and 30 men at the meet with the majority entered in multiple events. The heaviest workload belongs to seven athletes who will compete in three events. Throwers

Galadriel Mellion will take part in the women's shot put, discus and hammer. Multiers
Merle Weber is entered in the 200, 100-hurdles and javelin while
Blake DaQuino (100H/SP/DIS) and
Cole Oliver (110H/HJ/JAV).

This meet marks the first time Sacramento State has competed since the Big Sky Indoor Championships on Feb. 26-28. This weekend is the first of 14 meets during the outdoor season before the Big Sky Championships in Portland, Ore., on May 13-16 and the NCAA West Preliminary in Fayetteville, Ark., on May 27-30.
