LOS ANGELES — The Sacramento State men's relay teams led an outstanding day by the track and field teams at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival & Jim Bush Legends Invitational at UCLA. The Hornets combined to record 10 school top-10s on Saturday.
 
MEN'S TRACK HIGHLIGHTS

• The 4x400 team of Curtis Reagor, Nathan Rider, Ife Orekoya and Tim Edwards, Jr., set the school record by running 3:09.04 to place second in the meet — trailing only UCLA by less than a second. The foursome bettered the previous school record of 3:09.51 which had stood since 1986.
• The 4x100 squad moved into third place in the program history in 40.29. The group, made up of Jayden Thompson, Gianni Miles, Nathan Rider and Jonas Petty, posted the fastest time by Sacramento State sine 2011.
• Edwards ran the sixth-fastest 400 all-time by a Hornets as he clocked a time of 47.17 to finish in sixth place in the meet. Rider was two-hundredths of a second back and is now eighth in the record book. Orekoya became the third Sacramento State runner to move into the top 10 in event as he is now ninth in 47.31.

 
WOMEN'S TRACK HIGHLIGHTS

• After moving into the top 10 in the 100 to start the year, freshman Victoria Chatter is now ninth all-time at Sacramento State in the 200. Chatter ran 24.20 and placed ninth in the meet.
• Ava Fitzgerald was fourth in the 100-hurdles with a time of 13.62. for the highest finish by a Hornet woman in the track events.

 
MEN'S FIELD HIGHLIGHTS

• Jamar Andrews, Jr., came within a fraction of an inch in setting the school record in the triple jump. Andrews won the event with a best of 53-01.00. That mark ranks second in school history behind only former All-American Darius Armstead who jumped 53-01.50 in 2017.
• Eli Kaltreider was second in the high jump and tied for ninth in school history after clearing 6-11.75.

 
WOMMEN'S FIELD HIGHLIGHTS

• Galadriel Mellion moved into the top 10 in two events. Mellion finished in third place overall and is now 10^th in school history in the shot put with a best of 47-03.75. She was also third in the discus and moved into fifth place in the record book after a throw of 162-00.

 
Sacramento State will next compete in a series of meets over the week. The team will split its squad between the Texas Relays (Austin, Texas), Brutus Hamilton Multi (Berkeley, Calif.), Stanford Invite (Stanford, Calif.) and Mike Fanelli Classic (San Francisco, Calif.).
