Brandon Moreno made his pro debut in the 800 while
Jamar Andrews, Jr., will compete in the USATF U20 Championships on June 19.

Moreno ran 1:48.04 to finish second in "C" section of the men's 800 at the USATF LA Grand Prix. His time topped his career best of 1:48.91 which came at this year's Big Sky Outdoor Championships where he was third. The Sacramento native, who was competing unattached at the meet, also bettered the school record of 1:48.35 which was set by former All-American Nathanael Litwiller in 2011. Moreno only trailed reigning NCAA 800m champion Sam Whitmarsh in the race.

Andrews last competed at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships where he claimed first place. His best jump of 53-01.00 (16.18m) ranks second in school history. The freshman enters the competition tied for the top seed along with Miles Nesmith. The field will also contain Camren Smith who is the 2026 California high school state champion. Andrews will begin the triple jump at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
