Ella Kraft and
Tova Hatton each finished in the top 10 and the Sacramento State women's golf team placed third at the Causeway Invitational on Tuesday at Del Paso CC. The Hornets posted the lowest team score of the round, finishing the day at 1-over par and totaled 295-285-289-869 for the tournament.

Colorado won the event at even par while UC Davis edged Sacramento State on the final hole to take second place by one stroke at 4-over. Following the Hornets (5-over) in the top five were San Diego State (12-over) and San Francisco (20-over).

Lee tied for second place for her highest finish during her freshman season. She had the top start of the team, recording birdies on Nos. 2 and 4 to get to 2-under. Her lone bogey on the front nine came on the par-4 seventh and she made the turn at 1-under. The Vacaville, Calif., native started the back side of the course with a birdie on No. 10 and a bogey on No. 11. She jumped to 3-under with birdies on Nos. 13 and 14 and remained there until a bogey on the par-3 17
th. Lee finished the tournament at 73-70-70-213 to set her season best by seven strokes.

Kraft tied for sixth place with a 54-hole total of 72-72-71-215. On Tuesday, the senior was 1-under on the front nine with birdies on Nos. 2 and 7 and a bogey on the par-4 third. She started the back nine with two pars and then birdied the par-3 12
th before a bogey on No. 13. Kraft added birdies on the par-5 15
th and 16
th to get to 3-under before wrapping up her round with bogeys on her final two holes. Her final round 71 gave her 44 career rounds of par or better which set the Sacramento State record.

Hatton also carded a 1-under par round on Tuesday and placed eighth overall. Hatton was 1-under through her first nine holes with birdies on Nos. 4 and 7 and a bogey on No. 8. She was even for the rest of the day combining a bogey on No. 12 and a birdie on the par-5 13
th with seven pars.

For the second-consecutive day, a Sacramento State golfer recorded a hole-in-one as
Ashley Koga posted an ace on the 148-yard 17
th. Her effort followed
Jocelyn Tseng who had a hole-in-one on the fifth hole during the first round on Monday.

Sacramento State will remain in Northern California for its next tournament as it will play the Juli Inkster Invitational on Mar. 9-10 in San Francisco.
