SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Competing for the first time in over a month, the Sacramento State indoor track & field teams will return to action this weekend in a pair of meets in Spokane, Wash. The action will begin with the Spokane Sports Showcase on Friday at The Podium. Later that evening, the Spokane Indoor Challenge will start and continue through the following day.

The Hornets began their indoor season on Dec. 4-6 at the Silver State Invitational and Combined. Sacramento State had great success in the meet, recording nine school top 10 marks and winning two individual event titles. As a result of those performances, the team has 46 marks which rank among the top 10 in the Big Sky Conference heading into this week's action.

The Spokane Sports Showcase will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday with the women's weight throw. The first running event will be the men's 60-hurdles prelims at 11:45 a.m. The final event of the meet will be the men's 4x400 relay at 3:30 p.m.

After a short break, the Spokane Indoor Challenge will begin with the women's 5K and the men's high jump at 7 p.m. Other events to take place on Friday night are the men's 5K and men's and women's DMR as well as the men's weight throw.

The meet will resume on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw. Running events will start 30 minutes later, beginning with the women's 60-hurdles prelims. Competition is scheduled to conclude at 2:50 p.m. with the men's 4x400.
