LAHAINA, Hawaii — The Sacramento State women's golf team was 7-under par during the second round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Tuesday and has worked its way into a tie for second place. Washington moved to the top of the team standings with a 15-under par round and sits at 18-under heading into the final round. The Hornets are tied with Oregon State and Denver for second place but are nine shots back of the Huskies.

The lowest score for a Sacramento State golfer during the round belonged to freshman
Tova Hatton who set her career best with a bogey-free 66. Hatton, who was playing as an individual, started with a par on the 17
th hole and then carded six birdies over her next nine holes. She finished the round with eight consecutive pars to become just the fifth player in school history to shoot 66 or better in a round. Her score ties
Caitlin Maurice for the lowest in the second round of a tournament in school history.

Caitlin Maurice and
Ella Kraft each shot 70 on Tuesday. Sharan is tied for third overall with a 36-hole total of 69-70-139 and is four strokes off the lead. Sharan was also bogey free during her day with a birdie on her opening hole (No. 4) and another on the par-5 18
th to accompany 16 pars.

Maurice had an amazing three eagles in her round to offset four bogeys. Her first eagle came on the par-5 sixth hole (her second hole of the day). She then eagled the par-4 10
th and added her final eagle on the par-5 18
th. Maurice is the only player with more than one eagle in the tournament and is tied for seventh overall with consecutive rounds of 70.

Kraft had an up and down round which saw her fluctuate between 1-over and 2-under throughout the day. She opened with a bogey on No. 7 before birdies on Nos. 9 and 10. She remained at 1-under following a stretch which included a bogey on No. 13, birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 and a bogey on No. 18. Kraft dropped back to even with a bogey on the par-5 first and then ended her round with consecutive birdies on Nos. 5 and 6. She moved up 29 spots in the standings and is tied for 31
st.

Darla May Dela Torre jumped into a tie for 24
th place after a 1-under par 71. Dela Torre was even through 15 holes with a birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 and bogeys on Nos. 10 and 18. The freshman returned to red numbers with a birdie on the par-4 third and finished with a pair of pars.

Florencia Dufey completed the lineup with a 77 comprised of one birdie and six bogeys.

The tournament will conclude with the final round on Wednesday beginning with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. PT. Sacramento State will be paired with Washington, Denver and Oregon State on holes Nos. 1-3.
