WOMEN'S GOLF RETURNS TO RAINBOW WAHINE INVITATIONAL AT NEW COURSE

Hornets to play at Ocean Course in final event of fall

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State women's golf team will conclude the fall portion of its schedule at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational beginning on Monday. After nearly 25 years of the tournament being hosted by Kapolei Golf Club, this year event will be held at the Ocean Course at Hokuala in Kaua'i.
 
This year's Rainbow Wahine Invitational field features 19 teams highlighted by nine teams ranked in Scoreboard's Top 100 national rankings including 15th-ranked Baylor, No. 30 Kansas, No. 32 Missouri, No. 35 Eastern Michigan, No. 57 Sacramento State, No. 85 Santa Clara, No. 89 Boise State, No. 91 Brigham Young, and No. 94 Long Beach State.
 
Making up the rest of the field are Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Idaho, Kennesaw State, Nevada, Osaka Gakuin (Japan), San Diego State, Tulane, Washington State, and Wyoming.
 
Sacramento State is coming off a tie for eighth place at last week's Golf Iconic Classic in New Mexico. The team was led by Ella Kraft and Darla May Dela Torre who tied for 22nd place. Kraft had the low round for the team, shooting 66 in the second round.
 
The team will make one change to its lineup as Ashley Koga was moved into the starting five. The Hawaii native tied for 36th place last week while playing as an individual.

The Last Time at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational
Sacramento State placed sixth out of 15 teams last fall after shooting 287-292-286-865. Ella Kraft had the highest individual finish among the Hornets, trying for 11th place at 68-75-69-212.
