FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Three members of the Sacramento State track and field teams competed at the NCAA West First Round at Arkansas over the last two days.
On Thursday,
Breija Stredic competed in the women's 400-hurdles. The freshman ran 1:02.99 to place 48th in the event in her NCAA postseason debut.
Friday's action began with
Miles Grant in the high jump. Grant passed at the opening height and entered the competition with a clearance at 6-08.25 on his first attempt. He again wasted no time clearing 6-10.25 on his first jump. Once the bar was raised to 7-00.25, Grant was unsuccessful on his three attempts eliminating him from the competition. He tied for 19th place overall at the meet.

All three Hornets were making their NCAA postseason debut. Each also recorded a school top 10 performance during the year. Stredic is ranked third in program history in the 400-hurdles with a time of 58.75 and is tied for 10th after running 11.81 in the 100. Grant cleared 7-00.25 which ties him for seventh all-time at Sacramento State and made him the first Hornet over seven feet since 2011.
