LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — Jennifer Koga matched her career high with a 4-under par round of 67 and Ashley Koga had a career best 69 to help the Sacramento State women's golf team extend its lead after the second round of the Big Sky Championship at Wigwam Golf Resort. The Hornets were 2-under par during the round and now lead by 18 strokes with one round to play.

Jennifer Koga moved into the individual lead behind her strong round. The senior recorded birdies on the par-3 second and par-5 third to get to 2-under par early in the day. Her lone bogey of the round came on the par-4 seventh to place her 1-under at the turn. Koga began the back nine with a birdie and added birdies on the par-4 14th and par-5 18th. Her score matches her career low which came at last year's Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. Combined with a 70 in the first round, Koga is now tied for the school single-season record with 14 rounds at or below par this season. Today she also extended her career school record with 12 rounds in the 60s, 42 career rounds at or below par and tied the school record with 113 career rounds played.

Ashley Koga sparked Sacramento State with birdies on the par-5 first and par-3 second hole. However, she was even at the midway point of her round following bogeys on Nos. 4 and 8. Koga played the back side of the course at 2-under with birdies on Nos. 10, 14 and 18 and a bogey on the par-3 13th. She is now tied for third place overall at 72-69-141.

Caitlin Maurice ranked third on the team during the round and is tied for sixth place following a 1-over round of 72. The junior had birdies on Nos. 1 and 3, surrounding a bogey on No. 2. Her birdie on the par-5 fifth moved her to 2-under where she remained until bogeys on par-4 12th and par-3 13th which returned her to even. Following four pars, she bogeyed the 18th to finish at 1-over.

Sneha Sharan is tied for 10th place following 3-over round of 74. Sharan was 1-under through six holes with birdies on Nos. 3 and 5 and a bogey on No. 4. A triple bogey on the par-4 seventh upended her round but she bounced back to play her final 11 holes at 1-over. During the final stretch she had three bogeys and four bogeys.

Ella Kraft finished Tuesday with a 76 and is tied for 24th. Kraft had four birdies, five bogeys and two double bogeys in her second round.

Weber State ranks second in the team standings at 14-over par and are followed by NAU. The Wildcats and Lumberjacks will be paired with Sacramento State — for the second consecutive day — during the final round beginning at 9 a.m. PT.

Jennifer Koga leads Northern Arizona's Lizzie Neale by two strokes in the individual standings. Behind the pair, Ashley Koga, Northern Colorado's Marija Jucmane and Eastern Washington's Meghan Singh are each 1-under par and tied for third.
