Box Score SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State had little trouble - all six singles players won in straight sets - on the way to a 7-0 win over Jessup on Saturday afternoon on campus.
Despite playing without three players that usually reside in the Hornets' singles lineup, Sacramento State got straight set victories from
Jan Silva at No. 1,
Adam Chodur at No. 2,
Rudolfs Aksenoks at No. 3,
Michael Kaplan at No. 4,
Hayden Rand at No. 5, and
Michael Gravel at No. 6.
Today completed the Golden State Invitational, and the Hornets went 2-0 at the two-day event. The victory also improved Sacramento State to 8-4 overall, and 6-0 at home.
The Hornets fared well in doubles play as the teams of
Mark Keki/
Mate Voros (No. 1),
Jiri Novak/Rand (No. 2) and Kaplan/Gravel (No. 3) were each victorious.
Rand won his fourth straight singles match, while Aksenoks, Chodur, Gravel, Kaplan and Silva all won their third straight.
The Hornets jump back into Big Sky Conference play on Friday vs. Northern Arizona at home. First serve is 1 p.m.
