FAIRFAX, Calif. — The only things that could slow the Sacramento State women's golf team on Tuesday proved to be the weather and a committee. The Hornets were 2-under par as a team after completing the third round of the Juli Inkster Meadow Club Invitational and had moved into fourth place in a field which contains five top 25 programs. With no player having more than three holes remaining in the tournament, the decision was made to stop play after a brief storm blew made its way through the area. With that ruling, official results reverted back to the end of the second round where the Hornets were in ninth place.

Sacramento State was led in the third round by Caitlin Maurice who shot 2-under par round of 70. Sneha Sharan and Jennifer Koga added rounds of 71 while Ella Kraft completed the team total at 74.

Once in the clubhouse, the Hornets only trailed No. 1-ranked Stanford, 40th-ranked Washington and No. 8 USC in the team standings. That left Sacramento State ahead of No. 19 San Jose State and No. 25 California.

Sacramento State will next compete at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Mar. 17-19 in Lihue, Hawaii.
