SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State received wins from
Caitlin Volkmann/
Ellie Tisko (No. 2) and
Karlee Soderberg/
Mia Guevara (No. 3), but fell to CSUN, 3-2, on the second day of the Big West Conference Challenge on Saturday afternoon at Hornet Beach.
The Hornets are playing six times over three days at the tournament, with every match coming at home. They opened yesterday with losses to CSU Bakersfield (3-2) and seventh-ranked Long Beach State (5-0). The Hornets are co-hosting the tournament with UC Davis.
Sacramento State will play three ranked teams during the tournament, including tomorrow vs. 12th-ranked Hawai'i at 9 a.m., and ninth-ranked Cal Poly at 3 p.m. The Hornets conclude the event at 5 p.m. vs. UC Davis.
With the score tied at 2-2, today's match came down to No. 1 where

Greta Davis lost in three sets (22-20, 14-21, 15-11). Each of the first three doubles matches went three sets, including the Volkmann/Tisko victory (21-23, 21-8, 15-13) and Soderberg/Guevara win (21-17, 19-21, 15-6).
