SPOKANE, Wash. — Jessi Barry tied the school record in the 60-meter dash to lead the Sacramento State track and field team during the final day of the Riverfront Invitational on Saturday at The Podium.
Barry had three races of 7.55 seconds or better with a best of 7.52 in the semifinals. That time tied them with Shilah Bedingfield for the fastest in school history and ranks fourth in the Big Sky this season. Barry ran 7.54 seconds in the final to place fourth at the meet.
Junior
Zoe Ewell made her Hornet debut a memorable one in the 60. The Riverside JC transfer ran 7.64 in the qualifying round and moved into a tie for eight place in school history. Ewell followed with a time of 7.67 in the next round to place 16th overall.
Freshman
Stephen Dahdouh had two top 10 performance on Saturday. Dahdouh opened his day with a time of 6.87 in the qualifying round of the 60 meters. Dahdouh is now tied for 10th in program history and tied for ninth in the Big Sky this season. He later placed sixth in the finals of the 60-hurdles after running 8.03 seconds. That mark ties him for seventh place all-time at Sacramento State and ranks him sixth in the conference this year.
The Hornet men added two more top 10 showings during the day.
Malachi Cox ran 48.15 to finish in third place in the 400. Cox took .86 seconds off his previous best and is now seventh in school history. A week after running the fourth-fastest 3K all-time at Sacramento State,
Brandon Moreno moved into seventh place in the mile with a time of 4:13.23.
Other notables for the women included:
- Tamia Ramos had a best of 39-08.50 to move into ninth in the Big Sky this season. Ramos' previous best was 38-05.50 earlier this season.
- Ava Fitzgerald ran 8.74 in the 60-hurdles and now ranks sixth in the Big Sky this season.
- Daysha Ford ran a season best 57.49 in the 400.
- All four entries in the shot put set season bests or PRs. The quartet was led by Deanna Gaines who had a personal best of 41-09.25.
- The women's 4x400 relay team of Breija Stredic, Zoe Ewell, Daysha Ford and Sarah Collier ran 3:54.81 for the fastest time by the team this season.
- Kaleena Narus took over a minute off her PR by running 10:35.24 in the 3K.
- Leah Chavez tied her PR in the pole vault at 10-04.00.

Sacramento State will split its squad next weekend with part of the team traveling to the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., and others competing at the Husky Classic in Seattle. The meets will be the final tune-up before the Big Sky Indoor Championships on Feb. 22-24 in Spokane, Wash.
