SHARAN, MAURICE BOTH UNDER PAR IN SECOND ROUND OF RAINBOW WAHINE INVITATIONAL

Pair shoot 69, 71, respectively are are tied for 15th place along with Ella Kraft

 KAPOLEI, Hawaii — Sneha Sharan, Caitlin Maurice and Ella Kraft are each tied for 15th place at 1-under par following the second round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Tuesday at Kapolei GC. The Sacramento State women's golf team is tied for seventh in the team standings.
 
Sharan recorded her sixth career round in the 60s as she shot 69 and finished the second round at 3-under par. She had a quick start to her round with birdies on the par-4 11th and par-3 12th to get to 2-under through four holes. After a bogey on No. 16, she birdied the par-5 17th. On the front side the course, she birdied the par-4 second and sixth to go along with a bogey on the par-4 third.
 
Maurice was also under par during the second round, posting a 71. She was 2-under through her first 10 holes with birdies on Nos. 10 and 11 and eight pars. Her first misstep came with a double-bogey on the par-5 17th but she followed with a birdie on the par-4 18th to get back to 1-under. The senior added a birdie on the par-4 second and a bogey on the par-4 fourth to end her round.
 
Kraft, who led the team in the first round with a 68, shot 75 on Tuesday. Kraft had two birdies and five bogeys during her round.
 
The team also had rounds of 77 from Darla May Dela Tore and Florencia Dufey. Dela Tore is tied for 49th overall and had 13 pars and five bogeys on Tuesday. Dufey finished the second round with two birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey.
 
Sacramento State also has two individuals in the tournament. Ashley Koga bounced back from a difficult first round to shoot an even-par 72 in the second round. Koga started her round with a birdie on the par-4 18th but stood at 1-over following bogeys on the par-4 second and fourth holes. She dropped back into red numbers with birdies on the par-4 sixth and 10th holes then played her final seven holes at 1-over with a bogey on the par-4 13th. Freshman Tova Hatton shot 78 with 13 pars, four bogeys and a double bogey and is tied for 49th.
 
Colorado State and Kansas State are tied for the team lead at 12-under par. The two teams have a five shot lead over UC Irvine which is in third place. Grand Canyon (4-under) and Santa Clara (3-under) complete the top five. Sacramento State is 3-over and finds itself four shots back of sixth place and four shots ahead of eighth.
 
The third round will have a shotgun start at noon PT and will have the Hornets paired with UC Irvine and Utah Tech.
