SACRAMENTO, Calif. — After nearly a two-week break between competitions, the Sacramento State men's and women's cross country teams return to action for the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Friday, Sept. 22. The meet, which is hosted by Oregon, will feature the men's 8K race at 11 a.m. PT and the women's 6K race 45 minutes later. Both races will be held at Pine Ridge GC.
The Hornets' only meet this season came on Sept. 1 at the USF Invitational. The women's team finished in seventh place and were led by
Molly Latincsics (21st overall). The men placed ninth in the team standings with
Aiden Maddison (57th place) recording the fastest time.
This week's meet is named for the former Oregon athlete and coach. Dellinger was a three-time Olympian and won the bronze medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics. He coached Oregon from 1968-98.
The field at the meet includes a pair of top 15 teams in the men's race in No. 9 Portland and No. 15 Oregon. The women's race is headlined by No. 6 BYU, No. 7 Oregon and No. 17 Oregon State
