UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Sneha Sharan's final round of 69 led the Sacramento State women's golf team at the Leadership and Golf Invitational on Tuesday at Chambers Bay. The Hornets finished the 19-team tournament in ninth place.
Sharan totaled 218 over the three rounds to tie with
Ella Kraft for the team low. The pair tied for 15th place. Sharan had rounds of 74-75-69-218 to set her career 54-hole best. Her final round was tied for her second best in her three years at Sacramento State. She started Tuesday with three bogeys over her first four holes but then caught fire with birdies on Nos. 10-13 (all par-4) and, following a par, she biridied the par-3 15th to get to 2-under. After four more pars, she birdied the par-4 second to finish at 3-under.
Kraft shot 71-70-77-218 for her eighth top-20 finish in 12 career events. Her final round was comprised of three birdies, four bogeys and a pair of double bogeys.
Caitlin Maurice ranked second on the team in the third round with a 4-over round of 76. Maurice was 4-over through five holes but earned two strokes back with an eagle on the par-4 12th. She had two birdes and four bogeys over her final 11 holes.
Freshman
Florencia Dufey recorded the final score towards the team total with an 80 and tied for 84th place. Dufey had two birdies, four bogeys and three double bogeys on Tuesday.
 USC cruised to the tournament title after shooting 12-under par as a team in the final round. The Trojans accounted for four of the top five individual finishers led by Amari Avery who was the medalist at 68-72-67-207.
The Hornets return to action next Monday at the Big Sky 54 for IX tournament at TalonsCove GC in Saratoga Springs, Utah.
