Ten of 12 Hornets record personal bests at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival and Johnson/JJK Invite

LOS ANGELES — Tia Oliver and Molly Latincsics each recorded school top 10 marks to lead the Sacramento State track and field teams at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival on Friday night at Drake Stadium.

Oliver ran 10:59.41 to finish in fourth place in the steeplechase. Her time moved her into sixth place in school history and was the fastest by a Hornet since 2018. Oliver was previously ranked ninth all-time at Sacramento State with a best of 11:07.28 set last season.

Viviana Valenton also set a PR in the steeplechase as she ran 11:14.22 to finish in fifth place. Her time was a significant improvement over her previous best of 11:42.35.

Latincsics made her collegiate outdoor debut and completed the 5K in 17:08.81 to place seventh in the race. The true freshman is now ranked ninth in program history and is just the second Hornet to crack the school top 10 in the 5K in the last eight years.

Dani Gee added a PR in the 5K with a time of 17:37.18.

In the men's 5K, Aiden Maddison led the team in 14:53.25 to finish in 13th place. Santiago Ruiz placed 16th with a PR of 14:55.59.
