BANDON, Ore. — Casey Leebrick shot 73 for the lowest score for the Sacramento State men's golf team and Jeffrey Perry had the best overall finish on the team at the Bandon Dunes Championship on Tuesday. The Hornets finished the tournament, which was shortened to 36 holes after a Monday rainout, in 12th place out of 18 teams. Sacramento State shot 307-298-605.

Leebrick was 1-over par during the round and led the team with five birdies. After being 1-over through his first three holes. Leebrick birdied the the par-5 13th and par-3 15th to get to 1-under. A triple bogey on No. 17 gave him a score of 2-over at the turn. Leebrick eventually rose to 3-over before ending his round with back to back birdies on Nos. 8 and 9.

Perry tied for 40th at 77-74-151. On Tuesday, he was 2-over through his first three holes and then parred nine consecutive holes (Nos. 12-2). A birdie on the par-5 third took him to 1-over for the day but closed with a birdie, two pars and two bogeys over his final five holes.

Gabriel Smith matched Perry with a 64 during the second round. Smith Was even at the midway point of his round with a birdie and a bogey on his card. He fell to 1-under with a birdie on the par-5 third but ended at 2-over after three bogeys on his last five holes.

The team also counted a 77 from Riley Bell to complete the team total. Bell had a birdie, three bogeys and a triple bogey during the day.

Oregon won the tournament by seven strokes over Oregon State and Utah. The Ducks totaled 299-282-581 as a team and were led by Owen Abrit who was the medalist at 70-70-140.

Sacramento State will next compete at the Redhawks Invitational at Chambers Bay GC on Apr. 3-4.
