WOMEN'S GOLF REMAINS TIED FOR EIGHTH AT EVIE ODOM INVITATIONAL

Sharan, Kraft and Koga tie for the team lead in the second round with 72s

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Ella Kraft, Sneha Sharan and Jennifer Koga each shot 72 to tie for the team lead for Sacramento State during the second round of the Evie Odom Invitational on Saturday at Princess Anne Country Club.

The Hornets remained tied for eighth place after shooting 292 in the second round. Sacramento State is 16 strokes back of 16th-ranked UCF (7-over)for the top spot in the standings. Kent State is second and two strokes behind the Golden Knights. The remainder of the top is comprised of Furman (12-over), Chattanooga (12-over) and Old Dominion (16-over).

Sneha Sharan is tied for 18th overall to lead Sacramento State. On Saturday, Sharan began play with a bogey and was 1-over on the turn after trading bogeys and birdies over Nos. 5-8. Sharan bogeyed the par-5 10th to start the back nine and then followed with eight consecutive pars.

Ella Kraft is tied for 24th and one stroke back of Sharan through two rounds. Kraft had 16 pars during play on Saturday along with a bogey on the par-4 first and 16th.

Jennifer Koga is also tied with Kraft at 24th. Koga was even through the front nine with a pair of birdies and bogeys. She moved to 1-under following a birdie on the par-4 12th but had three bogeys over her final six holes to end the round at 2-over.

Florencia Dufey shot 76 to provide the final score toward the team total. Dufey had a triple bogey on the first hole and was 5-over midway through her round. Her first birdie came on the par-3 11th and she ended with bogeys on Nos. 16 and 18.

The final round of the tournament will take place on Sunday. Sacramento State will tee off the first hole beginning at 5 a.m. PT. The Hornets will be paired with Coastal Carolina and East Carolina.
