EUGENE, Ore. — Sacramento State senior Evan Stork earned honorable mention All-America after placing 22nd in the men's hammer at the NCAA Div. I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday at Hayward Field.
Stork, who was competing in the first of two flights, began his competition with a throw of 215-feet, 1-inch. That distance proved to be his best during the day as he added throws of 207-04 and 207-09.
Logan Blomquist of Southeast Missouri took first place with a personal best of 240-08.
Stork leaves Sacramento State as the school record holder in the hammer throw. His toss of 219-09, set earlier this spring, is more than seven feet further than the second-place mark in program history. Stork also ranks third in the weight throw with a best of 63-05.00.
