SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Following a strong showing at the Hornet Invitational last weekend, the Sacramento State track and field teams will compete at the ASU Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Tempe, Ariz.
The meet will get underway on Friday morning with the women's hammer at 10:30 a.m. The first running event of the day will be the women's 100-hurdles prelims at 5:30 p.m. In all, the day will see the men's and women's hammer, high jump, discus and women's pole vault as well as the men's and women's 200, 5K and steeplechase.
Saturday will start at 10:30 a.m. with the women's long jump. The women's 4x100 will begin at 2 p.m. and the final event of the day will be the men's 4x400 at 6 p.m.
Along with the host Sun Devils and Sacramento State, the meet will have entries from Arizona, Grand Canyon, Minnesota, Northern Arizona, Nebraska and Ohio State.
Through two outdoor meets, the Hornets currently have 68 marks ranked among the top 10 in the Big Sky Conference. That number includes four conference leading performances comprised of LaTrouchka Duke in the 200 (24.52), Danielle Gee in the steeplechase (11:38.31), Miles Grant in the high jump (6-06.75) and Evan Stork in the hammer (216-00). Stork was named the Big Sky Male Field Athlete of the Week after breaking his own school record in the hammer last weekend to finish first at the Hornet Invitational.
