TRACK & FIELD POSITIONS ITSELF FOR BIG FINAL DAY AT BIG SKY INDOORS

BOZEMAN, Mont. — LaTrouchka Duke recorded a pair of school top 10 marks, three athletes scored points and 12 personal bests were set to highlight Sacramento State's effort during the second day of the Big Sky Indoor Championships on Friday.

Duke ran 7.53 in the qualifying round of the 60 to move into a tie for second place in school history and record the second fastest time at the meet. Her time was three-hundredths faster than her previous best and just one-hundredth off the school record which is held by Shilah Bedingfield.

Duke later ran 24.67 in the 200 for the fastest time in the round. That mark shaved .13 seconds off her previous best and moved her into eight place in program history.

Shantel Nnaji had the best placement on the team in an event final as she was third in the women's shot put to earn all-Big Sky honors and give Sacramento State six points. Nnaji had a best of 46-07.50.

Cagnei Duncan also scored for the women, snagging a point with an eighth place finish in the 5K with a time of 17:23.33.

Evan Stork earned five points for the men following a weight throw of 61-00.75 which placed him fifth in the meet.

Blaize Holland advanced to the finals of the 60 and the 200. Holland ran 6.90 in the 60 which seeds him sixth heading into Saturday. He will be seeded fourth in the 200 with a qualifying time of 22.08. Jabari Reynolds will join him in the 200 final after running 22.14.

The Hornets began the day by completing the heptathlon where Jack Charlton finished 11th and Joshua Braun was 14th. Charlton ran 8.60 in the 60-hurdles in the day's first event for the fourth fastest time in the field. Braun set a PR in the event after running 9.11.

After Charlton cleared 9-00.50 and Braun 7-08.75 in the pole vault, the pair wrapped up the heptathlon in the 1000. Braun ran 3:03.39 for the third best time while Charlton crossed in 3:20.43.

Charlton later set a PR in the open 60-hurdles by running 8.56.

Other PRs for the men included DeVonn Johnson in the 60 (6.96) and Khalil Fowlkes in the 400 (50.96). The women received career bests from Daysha Ford in the 200 (25.35) and 400 (58.38), Kameryn Brown in the 60-hurdles (9.08), Abby Sheets in the high jump (5-03.24) and Breeana Espinoza in the shot put (41-05.25).

The meet concludes on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. PT.
