ALBUQUERQUE — LaTrouchka Duke produced a school top 10 mark in the 60 as part of 11 PRs set by Sacramento State athletes during the final day of the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on Saturday.

Duke ran 7.61 in the qualifying round and then posted a time of 7.56 in the final which improved her fifth-place ranking in program history. Daysha Ford also hd a PR in the 60 after running 7.80.

One of the biggest improvements came from Kameryn Brown in the 60-hurdles. Brown ran 9.08 in the qualifying round which easily bettered her previous best of 9.23.

Sarah Collier and Mia Lawrence each set career bests in the 800. Collier placed 15th in the meet iwth a time of 2:17.59 while Lawrence ran 2:18.40 to finish 18th.

The Hornet women accounted for two PRs in the shot put with Deanna Gaines (43-05.25) and Breana Espinoza (41-04.50) all eclipsing their career longs.

The men had two career bests in the 60-hurdles with Zachary Winger running 8.43  and Jack Charlton tying his PR of 8.76.

DeVonn Johnson led the team in the 60 by running 7.01 which was one one-hundredth better than his previous fastest.

Along with the career bests, Sacramento State athletes accounted for 11 additional season bests.

Sacramento State will next compete at the Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships in Bozeman, Mont., on Feb. 24-26.
