PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Casey Leebrick led Sacramento State in the first round of the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills GC on Monday with a round of 74. The Hornets are tied for 15th overall after finishing the opening round at 20-over par.

Leebrick is tied for 53rd place at 3-over par. He was 4-over on the front nine with five pars and four bogeys. He started the back nine with birdied on the par-5 10th and par-3 11th to get to 2-over. He parred six of the final seven holes with the exception being a bogey on the par-3 15th.

Coleman Dupre and Jeffrey Perry each shot 76 and are tied for 65th place. Dupre led the team with four birdies in the round — all on the back nine — and also had five bogeys and two doubles. Perry recorded the team's only eagle with a three on the 532 yard ninth hole. He added a birdie and eight bogeys.

Riley Bell completed the team score with a 78 and is tied for 77th. Bell had a birdie, two bogeys and three double bogeys in the round.

San Diego leads the tournament at 9-under par and has a two-stroke lead over LMU after the first day.

Riley Lewis shot 65 to claim the individual lead through 18 holes. Lewis is one stroke clear of Fresno State's Matthew Manganello and has five others within three strokes.

Sacramento State will start the second round off the 10th tee beginning at 10:01 a.m. on Tuesday.
