RENO, Nev. — The Sacramento State indoor track and field saw its first action in nearly two years as both Andrew Lehner and John Gibbs competed at the Pole Vault Summit on Saturday at the Livestock Events Center.
Lehner, who was competing in his first collegiate meet, finished first in the College Men 2 division with a best of 14-05.50 (4.41m). His height was 6.25 inches above the next closest competitor in the division.
Gibbs placed third in the division after a career best of 13-07.25 (4.15m). That mark shattered his previous best of 13-02.50 which came during the 2021 outdoor season at the Causeway Dual meet.
The Hornets will compete in their first full indoor meet of the season on Friday, Jan. 21, at the NAU Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz. Sacramento State will also have meets at Washington State (Feb. 4-5) and New Mexico (Feb. 11-12) before heading to the Big Sky Indoor Championships (Feb. 24-26).
